Dear JETAA members, JET alum, and JETAA Hawaii friends,
I’m writing to you today with my Japan-America Society of Hawaii (JASH) hat on. It’s that time of year again – time to start preparing for the 2010 Japan Wizards Competition (JWC), which will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2010 at the Kapiolani Community College (KCC) from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. Many of you have volunteered in previous years and I wanted to thank you for your support – it is because of your assistance that we are able to successfully carry out educational programs for Hawaii’s youth!
I am writing to ask for your help with the 2010 JWC. With the competition three months away, we need YOUR help in making sure it runs smoothly. We are looking for volunteers to serve as moderators, judges, timers, and scorers, at Registration, and in the Activity Center – for basically every aspect of the competition. I am attaching a flyer along with this email so that you may circulate it to anyone else who might be interested in volunteering. Volunteers will receive a 2010 JWC t-shirt, a bento lunch prepared by KCC’s Culinary Arts Department, a goodie bag, and their name in the program.
The 2010 JWC Mandatory Volunteer Orientation is on the morning of Saturday, January 30, 2010, at Kapiolani Community College (KCC). The purpose of this meeting is to stage a mock competition, provide you with detailed information for the actual Competition, and answer any questions you may have. This is a required event for all volunteers, and refreshments will be served. More information will be provided to volunteers in the coming weeks.
If you are interested in volunteering at the 2010 JWC, please email ksoma@jashawaii.org with the following information:
