The Japan Exchange and Teaching Program Alumni Association of Hawaii (JETAA Hawaii) is dedicated to the advancement of the JET Program through camaraderie, volunteerism in local communities, and support for past, present, & future JET Program participants. With a strong local interest in anything Japanese, we constantly strive toward becoming a better community resource while serving as ambassadors for the JET Program in Hawaii.
JETAA Hawaii provides alumni with a growing local network of individuals who share the experience of living and working in Japan on the JET Program. Though each placement may differ, our bonds flourish through common life experiences, friendships, employment abroad, and much more. For newly selected and current JET participants, we to prepare and offer support in the form of pre-departure orientations, workshops, and social events. Through social media and on an individual basis, we serve as mentors and support JETs currently in Japan with information, materials, and advice; as well as welcome upon their return to Hawaii.
As a resource for the community, we focus our considerable pool of knowledge of Japan to support a variety of local events, as well as JET Program promotional and recruitment initiatives. JETAA Hawaii creates new lasting connections while strengthening relationships with returning JETs and organizations already in our network.
