Would you give up two of your precious Saturdays to volunteer in the community and promote the U.S.-Japan relationship at the grass-roots level? That’s exactly what over 15 of our JETAA Hawaii members, officers, and Hawaii JET alumni did in support of the Japan Wizards Statewide Academic Team Competition, held this past Saturday at Kapiolani Community College. The Japan Wizards Competition is sponsored by the Japan-America Society of Hawaii, a local nonprofit that works closely with JETAA Hawaii in promoting the friendship between the U.S. and Japan. Trips to Japan are awarded to the top scoring public and private school teams at the culmination of the Competition. The JETAA Hawaii ohana served as moderators, judges, timers, scorers, at Registration, setup and cleanup duty, and even as advisors of some of the registered school teams!
Congratulations to the winners, and to all the teams who participated! Most of all, thank you to the JETAA Hawaii ohana who dedicated their time and energy to the Competition! It was a huge success! We look forward to participating next year!
